Building Tomorrow's Legacy Today
Crafting spaces that actually make sense for how people live
We started Arcen Valoria back in 2012 because honestly, we were tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter buildings pop up everywhere. Toronto deserves better than that.
What began as two architects sketching ideas over coffee has grown into a team that's genuinely passionate about creating spaces that don't just look good on paper – they actually work for the people using them every day.
We've always believed that sustainable design isn't some fancy add-on. It's just smart architecture. Why wouldn't you want a building that's comfortable, efficient, and doesn't cost a fortune to maintain?

Three things that guide everything we do
Every project we take on has to meet our environmental standards. No exceptions. We're not just talking about slapping some solar panels on the roof – we're thinking about materials, energy flow, long-term impact, the whole deal.
We spend a lot of time asking questions and actually listening. Because a building that looks amazing in renderings but feels awkward to live in? That's not good architecture. That's just an expensive problem.
We love trying new things, but not for the sake of being trendy. If a new material or technique can actually improve how a building performs or how it fits into the neighborhood, we're all in.
Our core services – all focused on sustainable contemporary design
From single-family homes to multi-unit developments, we create living spaces that actually reflect how you want to live. Not some architect's ego trip, but thoughtful design that makes your daily life better.
Office spaces, retail, mixed-use – we get that commercial projects have to work hard for their money. Beautiful design that also drives business results and keeps operating costs down.
Individual buildings are great, but we're also thinking about how they fit into the bigger picture. Community-focused planning that considers transit, green space, and how people actually move through neighborhoods.
Already have plans but want to make them greener? We'll review your project and find realistic ways to improve sustainability without blowing your budget. Sometimes small changes make huge differences.
The outside and inside shouldn't feel like they were designed by different people on different planets. We work on both to create a cohesive experience from curb to couch.
Construction can get messy real fast. We stay on top of it so you don't have to – coordinating contractors, managing timelines, keeping things on budget, and making sure what gets built actually matches what we designed.
Got an idea you're kicking around? Or maybe you're just tired of your current space and want to explore what's possible? Either way, we'd love to hear about it.
We've got architects, designers, planners, and project managers who've worked on everything from tiny laneway houses to major commercial developments across Toronto and beyond.
What brings everyone together? We're all a bit obsessed with the details. The way light hits a wall at different times of day. How a space flows when you're actually moving through it. The right material that'll age beautifully instead of looking tired in five years.
And yeah, we take sustainability seriously – but we're not preachy about it. It's just how we think good architecture should work in 2025. Buildings that respect their environment and the people who'll use them for decades to come.
Most of us live right here in Toronto, so when we're designing neighborhoods and buildings, we're designing for our own community. That keeps things real.
